Being there for one another, seeing the best in things, respecting our friends and our family, celebrating our similarities and our differences, and being able to open ourselves up to laughter, to love, to friendship and to fun – that’s what World of Happy is all about.

Giles is the author of many best-selling and award-winning children’s books including Giraffes Can’t Dance, Rumble in the Jungle, Pants and Captain Flinn and the Pirate Dinosaurs.

Giles is also the creator of the stick-man cartoon poet, Purple Ronnie, and of the playful artist / philosopher, Edward Monkton.

Giles lives near Oxford with his wife and 4 young children, and has a studio overlooking the sea in Cornwall, where he writes and draws many of his best-known creations.
What makes Giles most happy is playing on the beach with his family
in the sunshine.

Hello, I’m Giles Andreae.

I created World of Happy because I am passionate about encouraging children to view the world as a place of wonder and of opportunity… of friendship and of love: a place where we can share and delight in the simple pleasures of being human.

Of course, this is not always easy. But I believe that if children are encouraged to think in a positive and joyful way from an early age, it can have a direct and dramatic effect on their wellbeing, on their outlook on life and on their ability to lead happy, fulfilled and successful lives – whatever they choose to do.
